You always want to wear a decent set of clothes for a longer time, so it is very important to wash and maintain the clothes on a daily basis. There are different ways to wash clothes made of different fabrics. We recommend that you first read the washing instructions on the clothes, and then choose the appropriate washing method based on the fabric and characteristics of the clothes.
1. Cotton fabrics
Cotton fabrics have strong alkali resistance, are not acid-resistant, and have good high temperature resistance. They can be washed with various soaps or detergents. Before washing, you can soak them in water for a few minutes, but not too long to avoid color damage. Underwear should not be soaked in hot water to avoid coagulation of protein in sweat stains and adhesion to the clothes, and yellow sweat stains will appear. When washing with detergent, the best water temperature is 40-50oC. When rinsing, you can master the method of "small amounts and multiple times", that is, each time you rinse with clean water, you don't have to use a lot of water; but you have to wash it several times. After each rinse, you should wring it dry and then rinse it a second time to improve the washing efficiency. Clothes should be dried in a ventilated and cool place to avoid exposure to sunlight and fading of colored fabrics.
2. Linen fabrics
Linen fibers are rigid and have poor cohesion. When washing, wash them more gently than cotton fabrics. Avoid using a hard brush or rubbing them vigorously to prevent the fabric from fuzzing. Do not wring them hard after washing. Do not soak colored fabrics in hot water or expose them to the sun to prevent fading.
3. Silk fabrics
Before washing, soak them in water for about 10 minutes. The soaking time should not be too long. Avoid washing with alkaline water. Neutral soap or soap flakes, neutral detergent can be used. The bath liquid should be slightly warm or at room temperature. After washing, gently squeeze the water and avoid wringing.
It should be dried in a cool and ventilated place. It should not be exposed to the sun, let alone dried.
4. Wool fabrics
Wool is not alkali-resistant, so it should be washed with neutral detergent or soap flakes. Wool fabrics will shrink and deform in aqueous solutions above 30oC, so the washing bath temperature should not exceed 40oC. Room temperature (25oC) water is usually used to prepare detergent aqueous solutions. Avoid rubbing with a washboard when washing. Even if you use a washing machine, you should wash gently and the washing time should not be too long to prevent shrinkage. Do not wring after washing, squeeze out the water by hand, and then drain. It is advisable to use a washing machine to dehydrate for half a minute. It should be dried in a cool and ventilated place, and not exposed to strong sunlight to prevent the fabric from losing its luster and elasticity and causing a decrease in strength.
5. Viscose fiber fabric
Viscose fiber has a large shrinkage rate and low wet strength. It should be soaked as it is washed, and it should not be soaked for a long time. Viscose fiber fabrics will become hard when exposed to water. Wash gently to avoid pilling or cracking. Use neutral detergent or low-alkali detergent. The temperature of the washing liquid cannot exceed 45oC. After washing, fold the clothes, squeeze out the water in handfuls, and avoid wringing. Avoid exposure after washing, and dry in a cool or ventilated place.
6. Polyester fabric
Soak in cold water for 15 minutes first, then wash with general synthetic detergent, the temperature of the washing liquid should not exceed 45oC. The dirty collar and cuffs can be brushed with a brush. After washing, rinse, wring lightly, and dry in a cool and ventilated place. Do not expose to the sun or dry in a dryer to avoid wrinkles due to heat.
7. Acrylic fabric
Basically similar to the washing of polyester fabric. Soak in warm water for 15 minutes first, then wash with a low-alkali detergent, knead and rub gently. Thick fabrics are brushed with a soft brush, and finally dehydrated or gently wrung to remove moisture. Pure acrylic fabrics can be dried, but blended fabrics should be dried in a cool place.
8. Nylon fabric
Soak in cold water for 15 minutes first, then wash with general detergent (regardless of the alkali content). The temperature of the washing liquid should not exceed 45oC. Ventilate and dry in the shade after washing.
9. Vinylon fabric
Clothes powder is enough. Avoid using hot water to prevent the vinyl fiber from swelling and hardening, or even deforming. Dry after washing and avoid sun exposure.
Clothing maintenance
1. Maintenance of cotton and linen clothing
This type of clothing must be moisture-proof and mildew-proof. Wash and dry before collection. Classify and store according to dark and light colors to avoid mutual staining. Clothes that are not often worn should be exposed to mildew in summer. The life of the clothes will be shortened, and the skin will be uncomfortable when you wear them next time.
2. Maintenance of silk clothing
The key point of silk is also moisture-proof, it is more delicate than girls. When washing, be gentle, squeeze less, and don't wring. When drying, don't put it under the hot sun. When storing, wrap it with cloth and put it in a dry and clean box. It is not suitable to hang it for storage, otherwise it will deform due to its own weight. Be careful! Oh, and don't put camphor in white and light-colored collections, and don't put them in camphor boxes, which will turn yellow.
3. Maintenance of woolen clothing
Woolen clothing should be washed before collection, preferably dry-cleaned, ironed, and dried (must be fully dried) before storage. Store in a ventilated, cool and dry place. High-end woolen cloth is best hung in the wardrobe to avoid deformation due to its own weight when stacked. Put mothballs in the pockets of the wardrobe and clothes to prevent insects when storing.
4. Maintenance of fur clothing
Try to avoid staining and rain when wearing fur clothing. That will cause the clothing to lose hair, be careful. Then it will... hehe. When storing, it is best to hang it on a wide hanger such as "Beauty Shoulder". And put mothballs wrapped in paper in the pocket of the coat, remember to wrap it in paper. Take it out and dry it in the dog days to prevent insects and mildew. If placed in a box, lay it flat with the fur facing inward. And put it on the top of the box.
5. Maintenance of leather clothing
Leather should not be worn in rainy or snowy days. Generally, it should be aired at 9-10 am and 3-4 pm. It should not be exposed to the sun, otherwise the leather will age. It is better to hang it for storage. Add mothballs wrapped in paper. To make it softer, you can lightly apply a layer of glycerin on its surface. Or a deodorant for leather clothing. Just air it before wearing.
